Strange managed to defeat runner up Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano by a single shot and took home $366,660 in prize money at the 2009 event.The 2008 Volvo China Open was won by Damien McGrane from Ireland ; previous winners include Austrian Markus Brier, British winners include Paul Casey and Steven Dodd.
